      How to get started with Hololight Hub?

      A complete Guide to get started with Hololight Hub's Webpage and Clients

      Using this guide you will learn how to use apps hosted on Hololight Hub by connecting to them using Hololight Hub Client on your XR device. Specifically you will learn to:

      1. Download and install Hololight Hub Client onto your XR device.
      2. Start an app on hub.hololight.com.
      3. Connect to the app with Hololight Hub Client on your XR device.
      4. Stop the app when you are finished using it.

      Download and install Hololight Hub Client on your device

      To connect to an app hosted on Hololight Hub, download Hololight Hub Client onto your preferred XR device. Depending on the device, you can either download and install Hololight Hub Client through the device’s official store or download the client to your computer and sideload it onto your device.

      You can download and install Hololight Hub client using the app store on your XR device. Just open the store on your device and search for Hololight Hub or use the following links:

      You can download and sideload Hololight Hub Client for the following devices:

      • Meta Quest 2
      • Meta Quest 3
      • Microsoft HoloLens 2
      • Magic Leap 2

      To download Hololight Hub Client for sideloading:

      1. Go to the Hololight Hub section of the Hololight download page.
      2. Download the Hololight Hub Client application package for your device.
      3. Sideload the application package. Use the links below to find the correct instructions for your XR device.

      Start app

      1. Using a web browser, go to hub.hololight.com.
      2. Sign in using your email address and password.
      3. You should now be on the “Apps” page. If not, open the side menu and select Apps.

      4. Find the tile for the app you want to start. Use the dropdown menu in the app’s tile to select the region where you want to run the app. Select the region closest to you for the best performance.
      5. Select Start to start the app.
      6. The app’s status will update as the app starts up. When the app’s status is “Available”, you can then connect to the app with Hololight Hub Client on your XR device.

      Connect to and use app

      1. Using your XR device, open Hololight Hub Client.
      2. When Hololight Hub Client opens, sign in using your Hololight Hub email address and password.

      3. You will now see the apps in your app library that are available for the device you are using. Select the app you started earlier through your web browser.

      4. When you select an app, you can see detailed information about the app and its current status. If the app’s status is “Available”, select Connect.

      5. Hololight Hub Client will connect to the app. When the connection is successful, you can then use the selected app.

      When you are finished, open your device’s main menu to exit Hololight Client. See your device’s manual for more information on exiting apps.

      Stop app

      1. Return to hub.hololight.com on your web browser. After signing in, select Apps on the side menu if you aren’t there already.
      2. On the “Apps” page, find the tile for the app you started and select Stop to stop the app.
