How do I use Hololight Stream Runtime with NVIDIA Omniverse?
Set up and use Hololight Stream Runtime with NVIDIA Omniverse, including streaming and troubleshooting

To enable Hololight Stream Runtime with NVIDIA Omniverse apps and tools like NVIDIA Omniverse Kit or NVIDIA Omniverse USD Composer, you need to enable VR Experience or/and AR Experience within the application.
NVIDIA Omniverse setup
- Open your project.
- Select Window > Extensions in the top-left corner.
- Search for VR and enable VR Experience extension and check Autoload. If you instead want to use passthrough, search for Activate AR Experience and select Start AR
- In settings, confirm that the Selected Output Plugin is set to OpenXR.
Start a session and connect
In order to enable streaming, you need to install Hololight Stream Runtime on your workstation. Find more information in our Hololight Stream Runtime getting started guide.
- Open the Hololight Stream Runtime utility.
- Select your XR device in the dropdown menu.
- Choose between Passthrough or VR mode.
- Select Start VR to launch the experience.
- Open Hololight Stream Client on your supported XR device.
- Enter the IP adress shown in the Hololight Stream Runtime utility and select Connect.
Troubleshooting connection issues
