How do I use Hololight Stream Runtime with Twinmotion?
Set up and use Hololight Stream Runtime with Twinmotion, including streaming and troubleshooting
After installing Hololight Stream Runtime, you can start your VR experience in Twinmotion. Please note that in order to run Twinmotion you need to download and install Epic Games Launcher.
- Open Epic Games Launcher.
- In the left sidebar, select Unreal Engine.
- In the top bar, select Twinmotion.
- Install the latest version of Twinmotion.
- Follow the installation steps until complete.
To enable streaming, install Hololight Stream Runtime on your workstation and select your XR device. For more details, see our Hololight Stream Runtime getting started guide.
- Open the Hololight Stream Runtime utility.
- Select your XR device in the dropdown menu.
Run Twinmotion and start a session.
For this example, we’ll download a template scene and connect using a Meta Quest 3 to show the steps for running Twinmotion with Hololight Stream Runtime.
- In Epic Games Launcher, select Launch Twinmotion.
- Open your scene.
- In the editor, select the eye symbol in the top-right corner.
- In the dropdown, select VR.
- Select Start VR.
Connect to Twinmotion
- Open Hololight Stream Client on your supported XR device.
- Enter the IP adress shown in the Hololight Stream Runtime utility and select connect.
Troubleshooting connection issues
If your XR device can’t connect, first make sure it and your PC are on the same network. Then check that your firewall isn’t blocking Hololight Stream Runtime. For more tips, read our Software, System, and Network requirements and our detailed troubleshooting guide.
