How do I use the two point alignment tool in Hololight Space?

Align your 3D model to the real world by placing two connected points on both the model and its physical counterpart

The Two Point Alignment Tool in Hololight Space allows you to precisely align your 3D model to real-world references using two connected points, known as an anchor. This ensures your virtual model matches both the position and orientation of physical objects.

How to use Two Point Alignment in Hololight Space

Two-point alignment requires you to have the loaded model aligned vertically. This means you need to orient it correctly with its up vector.
  • Open Space Manager
  • Click Two Point Alignment in the top left corner
  • Click Create Object Anchor to generate an anchor made of two connected points.
  • You can move both points, but each plays a specific role:
    • The first point sets the overall position of the anchor on your 3D model.
    • The second point, connected to the first, defines the direction (angle) and length, which together determine the orientation and scale of the anchor.
    • Position these points on the model in a way that you can replicate physically.
  • Now create a World Anchor, which also consists of two connected, movable points.
  • Place them in the real world, matching the same positions and direction you defined on the model.
  • When both anchors are set, select Confirm.
Hololight Space uses the relationship between the two anchors to align your 3D model with the real world—matching position, angle, and distance.
