How do I fix 100% GPU usage in Task manager after connecting to Hololight Space?
Task Manager may misreport GPU usage after connecting to Hololight Space
During internal testing, we observed that after successfully connecting to Hololight Space, some systems report 100% GPU usage and unusually high VRAM usage. This occurs even when the Hololight Space server has just been started and no 3D models are loaded.
These values appear in Windows Task Manager, but only on certain machines.
This is not an actual performance issue
The reported GPU and VRAM usage is a visualization error in Task Manager. Hololight Space does not cause full GPU utilization or excessive VRAM consumption in this idle state.
To verify accurate GPU usage
For reliable performance data, use the official graphics card control panel. For example:
-
On systems with NVIDIA GPUs, open the NVIDIA App to check real-time GPU and VRAM usage.
In all test cases, the GPU vendor’s software reported values consistent with expected idle usage of Hololight Space.
