How do I fix common issues in Autodesk VRED?
Troubleshooting common issues when using Autodesk VRED with Hololight Stream Runtime
Black dots appear in shadows and on glass surfaces
When viewing the model with the Hololight Stream Client, black dots appear in shadows and on glass surfaces.
- In Autodesk VRED go to Render Settings > Display Output > Color > Improve Color Depth
- Uncheck the box next to Improved Color Depth.
Autodesk VRED crashes when enabling XR mode
In Autodesk VRED, if you select both XR and Hololight Stream to enable XR Mode this can cause issues when using Hololight Stream Runtime with Autodesk VRED. We recommend starting the XR session by selecting the Hololight icon in the top-right corner.
Vulkan rendering session crashes
When using Hololight Stream Runtime with Autodesk VRED and the Vulkan renderer enabled, the session may crash if hands are enabled in XR.
If you prefer to use Vulkan, make sure to disable hand visualization in XR. Interaction functionality can remain active, but rendering the hands with Vulkan can cause instability and lead to crashes during session startup.
- Navigate to Edit > Preferences in the top-right corner.
- In the left sidebar, scroll down to Extended Reality > Interaction.
- Disable Show Tracked Hands in MR.
