How do I fix connection issues when Hololight Space has no internet access?

Hololight Space may fail to connect to an XR device if Show update available notification is enabled while the system has no internet connection

When the update notification setting is enabled, Hololight Space performs a version check during the connection process. If no internet connection is available at that time, the version check cannot be completed and the connection is blocked. This can result in a failed connection or an apparent application crash.

This issue only occurs on networks without internet access and does not affect systems that are online.

Workaround: reset user settings

If you cannot connect to Hololight Space to disable the setting, reset the local user settings to restore the default configuration.

Follow these steps:

  1. Open Windows Explorer.

  2. Enter %appdata% in the top path bar and press Enter.

  3. In the top path bar, select AppData.

  4. Open LocalLow.

  5. Open Holo-Light GmbH.

  6. Open Hololight Space v2025.0.1.0 (or the version you are currently using).

  7. Delete the User Data folder.

  8. Start Hololight Space.

  9. Connect your XR device.

After completing these steps, the update notification is disabled by default and the connection should work again.

Alternative workaround

If possible, connect the system to the internet, connect to Hololight Space, and disable Show update available notification in the settings. Once disabled, Hololight Space can be used on offline networks.
