How do I fix the on-premise license server not starting after a Windows update?
Fix the issue when localhost:5054 is unreachable after a Windows update
After a Windows update, the on-premise license server might not automatically start. When this happens, opening localhost:5054 in your browser shows that the service is unavailable.
Steps to fix the issue
Follow these steps to restart the license server:
- Try to open localhost:5054 in a browser.
- If the page is unreachable, continue with the following steps.
- Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog.
- Type services.msc and select OK.
- In the Services window, find the Hololight service.
- Stop the service.
- Open your Hololight License Server Package folder.
- Delete the file rlm.pw (this file stores the password).
- Return to the Services window and restart the Hololight service.
- Open localhost:5054 again in a browser.
- Log in with:
- Username: admin
- Password: admin
Result
After completing these steps, the Hololight license server should be running again and localhost:5054 should be accessible.
