The Apple Vision Pro set a new reference point for XR display quality when it launched in early 2024, and the October 2025 refresh to the M5 chip extended that lead further. Micro-OLED panels, sub-millimeter eye and hand tracking, and a spatial computing interaction model that requires no controllers make it a practical choice for design review workflows where fidelity is a procurement requirement.
The M5 chip manages general spatial tasks. The VIVE Focus Vision is differentiated by its swappable battery design, which enables continuous operation in industrial environments where session continuity is a practical requirement. Per-eye resolution of 2,448 x 2,448 and built-in eye tracking place it above most enterprise standalone headsets on visual quality. Meta's consumer-adjacent positioning creates documented friction in regulated procurement environments. Data governance, hardware dependency on Meta's platform, and the company's broader data practices are concerns raised consistently by enterprise security teams.

When pixel streaming is in place, all application rendering runs within the customer's own infrastructure. Only display output reaches the headset, which directly addresses the primary data sovereignty objection raised in regulated procurement evaluations. The Meta platform dependency remains for device management functions.
