How do I connect to a Hololight Space Server?

Connect to a Hololight Space Server locally and to Hololight Space cloud

This article will explain how you can connect to Hololight Space with your XR Device. Before you begin, please make sure, that you installed Hololight Space on your PC and the Hololight Space Client on your XR Device.

Hololight Space Local Connection

To begin, launch the Hololight Space Server on your system. This can typically be done by locating the application in your program menu or desktop and double-clicking its icon.

Next, take your compatible XR device, such as a  HoloLens 2, Meta Quest 3, PICO 4 Ultra or HTC Vive XR Elite, and turn it on. Check the Wifi connection to make sure that you are in the same network. Open the Hololight Space Client application on the device. This client acts as the interface that allows you to connect to the server and interact with Hololight Space.

In the client application, you will see a prompt to enter the server's IP address. This address is a unique identifier for your Hololight Space Server on the network. You can find this IP address displayed in the server application window. Enter the IP address carefully, ensuring that there are no typos or errors.

After entering the IP address, click the 'Connect' button to establish the connection. If everything is set up correctly, the client will communicate with the server, and you will soon be immersed in the Hololight Space experience. If you encounter any issues during this process, double-check that both the server and your XR device are connected to the same network, as this is crucial for a successful connection.

Hololight Space Cloud Connection

To use the cloud version of Hololight Space you need an account for hololight.space. Please contact us for access.

If you have already access, login to hololight.space with your credentials. From here you can start the connection process.

  1. In the left bar select session
  2. Choose a region which is the closest to you
  3. Click on the Play-Button that appears next to the Region and the Instance will start.
  4. Wait until the initialization process is finished
  5. Grab your XR Device and open the Hololight Space Client
  6. In the left bar select Cloud
  7. Login with your credentials and hit connect

  • Session: Manage, start, and schedule your sessions efficiently.
  • Meeting: Create a QR code for multi-user access to join sessions easily.
  • Objects: Upload your 3D files for use within the application.
  • VR Skyboxes: Upload VR skyboxes here. In VR, navigate to Quick Hand Menu -> Main Menu -> Settings -> Options -> VR to access them.
  • Stencils: Upload stencils to utilize them as annotations within the app.
  • Spaces: Manage your saved and exported spaces from this section.
  • Manage: Review your session history here.
