Remote Rendering Optimization

Optimizing Hololight Stream application performance

Hololight Stream is very powerful, but multiple factors can affect how a Hololight Stream application runs. Here are some tips for improving your Hololight Stream application’s performance.

Hololight Stream application optimization

  • Select File > Build Settings > Project Setting > XR Plug-in Management > Hololight Stream and then set the Rendering Mode to Single Pass Instanced
  • Check for and eliminate any recurring errors in the application.
  • When running the application, build it first in the Unity Editor and run it as an executable.
  • Check out Unity’s recommendations for improving application performance.

Server machine optimization

  • Only run the Stream application, making sure no other applications are running int he background.
  • If you have multiple graphics processing units (GPU), make sure to set your most powerful GPU as the default one.
  • Update your GPU drivers.
  • Use a capable networking card.
  • If using a wireless connection, set up your machine to best maximize your signal strength.

Network optimization

  • Connect the server machine to the network with a cable.
  • Use a wireless router that operates at 5 GHz or higher. Sometimes the same router allows you to connect with 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz, make sure you choose the right one.
  • Use a wireless router that uses Wireless AC instead of Wireless N, G, or B.
  • Use the greatest channel bandwidth possible. For example, use 80 MHz over 40 MHz when available.
